Welcome to the official website of Baraka Uganda Development Initiative. We are fostering sustainable development, expanding access to education, and improving livelihoods through community-driven programs that bring lasting change.
Baraka Uganda Development Initiative is a community-based organization in Mukono District committed to empowering individuals and driving sustainable development. We promote improved education, health, livelihoods, and environmental protection to uplift vulnerable groups and build resilient communities. Founded in 2023, our work is rooted in partnership, inclusion, and lasting impact.
We run practical, community-focused programs that respond to real challenges and create sustainable opportunities. Each initiative is designed to uplift vulnerable groups, promote self-reliance, and build resilient communities across Uganda.
We believe education is the foundation of change. Through Faith Kindergarten and Junior School – Lweza, and a bursary scheme that supports learners from primary to university, we ensure that children and youth — especially orphans and vulnerable children — have access to quality education and a brighter future.
This initiative supports school-going girls and community women who cannot afford monthly disposable pads. We train and equip them to make reusable sanitary pads, promoting menstrual hygiene, school attendance, and women’s dignity.
We extend care to elderly citizens who have been left without support. By providing essentials such as soap, rice, mattresses, and other basic needs, we restore dignity and comfort to the elderly who are often abandoned and without income.
We support people with disabilities, including children, by providing seed capital to start income-generating activities and lobbying for basic necessities like wheelchairs, blankets, food, and hygiene items. This program champions inclusion and independence.
Through partnerships with institutions and organizations, we offer training in braiding, tailoring, soap making, and other vocational skills. This empowers youth and women to start small businesses, earn a living, and support their families.
We actively engage schools and higher institutions to raise awareness on Human Rights, HIV/AIDS, reproductive health, health safety, and other critical topics. Through dialogues, campaigns, and workshops, we build informed communities capable of making healthier choices.
We promote tree planting in communities and schools and organize annual marathons such as RUN FOR A GREEN SCHOOL and HOPE RUN, inspiring collective action to protect and restore the environment for future generations.
We believe that lasting impact is achieved through collaboration and shared vision. Over the years, Baraka Uganda Development Initiative has worked with local organizations, institutions, and community leaders to strengthen programs and extend our reach. Through these strategic partnerships, we mobilize resources, share expertise, and create opportunities that transform lives and communities across Uganda.
Every number tells a story of impact, growth, and transformation. Together, these achievements reflect the difference we’re making in communities across Uganda
